About Farhio

Advocate - Since moving to Minnesota, Farhio has been involved in addressing the many issues facing women, immigrants, and people of color. She has been particularly active around the issues of education, housing, domestic violence, health, and public safety.   

Public Servant and bridge-builder - Farhio is the Vice Chair of the Unity Community Mediation Team, Vice President of the Metropolitan Interfaith Council on Affordable Housing (MICAH), Executive Director of Voice of East African Women, and served as the President of the St. Paul Branch of the NAACP.

Collaborative, inclusive, and innovative leader - Farhio Khalif recognizes that Minnesota is at a critical inflection point. She recognizes that all voices need to be heard if effective solutions to the current challenges are to be implemented. Farhio sees the unique opportunity we have to creatively address those challenges and create a new and better Minnesota for all.   

Farhio lives in Maple Grove with her youngest son and cats named Nasib and Snow.
